Name: The 100 Black Men of America’s Future Leader Scholarship Program

Information And Eligibility: The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. is committed to developing talented young individuals in pursuit of higher education, and does so by providing scholarships to hundreds of deserving college students on an equal opportunity basis regardless of race, sex, creed, or religious preference. The 100 Black Men of America’s Future Leader Scholarship Program is available to U.S. citizens or legal residents, who are undergraduate students, maintaining full-time status at an accredited, post-secondary institution, and high school students transitioning to college. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (and be willing to submit an Official Academic Transcript), and must have completed 50 hours of community service within past 12-months with certified documentation.
All qualified applicants will be required to submit a 600 word (minimum, double-spaced) essay using one of the following topics: 1. How have you demonstrated leadership ability both in and out of school. 2. What do you see as the greatest threat to the environment today and describe your recommended solution. 3. Describe the attributes of your favorite teacher or professor and the impact they have had on your academic achievement. 4. If you had the authority to change your school in a positive way, describe the specific changes you would make?. 5. Discuss why you want to obtain a college education and how you are going to use your degree to impact your community and the world. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $2,000 and may be applied towards tuition, room, board, and books.
