    • Undergraduate: Bachelor’s Didactic or Coordinated Program in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND®-accredited)
    • Graduate or Doctoral: Advanced degree in nutrition/dietetics or coordinated/future-education model accredited program
    • Dietetic Internship or Dietetic Technician Program: As specified by the fund
  • Field of Study: Major or professional intent must be nutrition and dietetics or a closely related field and applicant intends to practice in the profession.
  • Membership Preference: Academy membership is strongly encouraged. While not required to submit, most individual funds give preference to members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Complete the online general scholarship application during the annual cycle (one application, multiple funds).
  • Submit official or unofficial transcripts from all higher-education institutions attended.
  • Provide résumé or curriculum vitae outlining education, experience and goals.
  • Submit essay(s) addressing career goals in nutrition/dietetics and how the scholarship would support your path.
  • Provide two letters of recommendation (typically one academic and one professional or mentor) as required by specific funds.

  • More than 250 scholarships are available annually; for example, in the 2023-24 year, the Foundation awarded 294 scholarships totaling $806,800.
  • Award funds are disbursed to the recipient’s institution for use toward tuition, fees, books or other education-related costs unless specified otherwise.
  • The application opens mid-February and closes in early April each year for the following academic year.
