Information and Eligibility:
The Travel Is Education Scholarship from ACIS Educational Tours celebrates creative expression about the transformative power of educational travel. It encourages U.S. students aged 11-20 to put into art, writing, video, or any other creative form what travel means to them.
Eligibility criteria include:

• Age: Students must be between 11 and 20 years old at time of application.
• Residency: Applicants must be U.S. students (domestic eligibility only).
• Focus: Work must reflect the contest theme (for example, “Outside the Comfort Zone” in 2025) and be original, creative, and student-produced.

Application Requirements:

• Completed Student Entry Form as provided by ACIS.
• Submission of creative piece (essay, video, song, artwork, photograph, etc.) that connects with the theme. Video or song entries should be hosted on YouTube and the link included; writing entries should typically not exceed one page. Entry becomes property of the organizers and cannot be returned.
• Applicant contact and school information submitted with entry form and submission package.

Selection Criteria:

• Originality and creativity of the artistic expression.
• Clarity of connection to the theme and demonstration of thought about travel’s impact.
• Overall quality of submission, completeness of entry documentation, and adherence to guidelines.

Additional Details:

• Grand prize winner receives a $2,500 travel voucher through ACIS; five runner-up winners receive $1,000 travel vouchers each.
• Vouchers may be used toward an ACIS or Encore tour. If the recipient has already registered for a tour and paid in full, a refund may be issued in coordination with ACIS Traveler Support.
• The deadline for submission is typically January 31 of each contest cycle, with winners announced by the end of February.
