Information and Eligibility:

The Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship provides financial assistance to Asian American college students pursuing majors in the performing and visual arts, journalism, or mass communications. The scholarship aims to support students who have demonstrated leadership abilities through community service, extracurricular activities, or other contributions.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Ethnicity: Applicants must be of at least 25% Asian and/or Pacific Islander descent.
  • Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or legal permanent residents.
  • Enrollment Status: Applicants must be high school seniors or currently enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year institution, pursuing a major in visual/performing arts, journalism, or mass communications.
  • Academic Achievement: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) is required.
  • Leadership and Community Service: Evidence of leadership through participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or other contributions is necessary.
  • Board Membership: Family members of Against The Grain Productions board members are ineligible to apply.

Deadline: Applications are due by May 31. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
