Award Amount:

  • Up to $5,334 for the 2025-26 academic year.

Information and Eligibility:
The All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship (AIOS) is a state-funded program designed to assist Iowa students who attend an eligible Iowa college or university. The scholarship aims to support students with financial need, particularly those who have faced significant personal challenges.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Residency: Must be an Iowa resident.
  • Education: Must have graduated from an eligible Iowa high school or completed a high school equivalency diploma within the last two years.
  • Enrollment: Must be a first-time college freshman in the fall or spring semesters, unless renewing the scholarship or aged out of foster care.
  • Financial Need: Must have a Student Aid Index (SAI) between (-1,500) and 10,669 on the FAFSA.
  • Priority Groups: Preference is given to:
    • Students who aged out of Iowa’s foster care system or the State Training School.
    • Students adopted from Iowa’s foster care system after age 16.
    • Children of deceased public safety workers.
    • Participants in federal TRIO programs or GEAR UP Grant programs in Iowa.
    • Graduates from alternative high schools or programs.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 1.
  • Submit the Iowa Financial Aid Application (IFAA) by April 1.

Application Timeline:

  • FAFSA and IFAA Availability: October 1
  • Application Deadline: April 1

Additional Information:

  • The scholarship is renewable for up to eight full-time semesters or sixteen part-time semesters, provided the student maintains continuous enrollment and meets eligibility criteria.
