The Ally Financial Law Scholars Program, launched in 2021, provides significant financial assistance to incoming law students enrolled full-time at accredited U.S. law schools. Funded by Ally Financial, the scholarship aims to reduce educational debt and foster diversity and inclusion within the legal field by supporting students committed to social and economic mobility.

In addition to monetary support, recipients are recognized for their leadership and potential to enhance access to the legal profession. Awardees submit a video and written personal statement reflecting their interest in law and alignment with Ally’s mission of reducing barriers to mobility.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Citizenship Status: Must be a U.S. citizen or current U.S. resident.
  • Enrollment: Incoming full-time student at an accredited law school.
  • Leadership & Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to the legal profession and leadership within the community.
  • Application Components: Submission includes a personal statement, a video response, two letters of recommendation, transcript, and resume.
