The Anne Frank Humanitarian Award, established in 2001 by The Florida Holocaust Museum, honors high school juniors who have made a conscious decision to better the lives of others. These students embody the spirit of Anne Frank, who, despite her hardships, did not abandon her ideals. The award began with 16 Pinellas County high schools and has expanded to include 100 public and private high schools across Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Grade Level: Must be a high school junior.
  • Geographic Location: Attending a participating high school in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, or Sarasota counties.
  • Humanitarian Actions: Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of others through community service or other humanitarian efforts.

Application Requirements:

  • Students are nominated by their school’s guidance counselors, administrators, faculty, or staff.
  • No direct application process for students; nominations are internally managed by each participating school.

Recognition Details:

  • Honorees are recognized at ceremonies hosted by The Florida Holocaust Museum, celebrating their outstanding efforts in front of peers, family, educators, and community leaders.
  • The award has the endorsement of the Anne Frank House in New York.
