Name: Ascentra Scholarship Program

Award Amount: A total of $15,000 awarded across three categories:

  • Traditional Scholarships: Five $1,000 scholarships for high school student members planning to enter college.
  • Continuing Education Scholarships: Five $1,000 scholarships for non-traditional student members (age 19 or over) planning to pursue higher education.
  • Vocational or Trades Scholarships: Five $1,000 scholarships for members entering vocational school, trade programs, or internships with unions or businesses.

The Ascentra Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to its members to help them achieve their educational goals. The scholarships demonstrate Ascentra’s commitment to empowering its members and fostering educational opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a member of Ascentra Credit Union in good standing.
  • Meet the specific criteria for one of the three scholarship categories:
    • Traditional Scholarships: High school student members planning to enter college.
    • Continuing Education Scholarships: Non-traditional student members aged 19 or older planning to pursue higher education.
    • Vocational or Trades Scholarships: Members planning to attend a vocational school, trade program, or internship with a union or business.

Application Process:

  • Complete the online application form available on the Ascentra Credit Union website.
  • Provide any required documentation, such as:
    • Proof of membership with Ascentra Credit Union.
    • High school transcripts (for Traditional Scholarships).
    • Enrollment verification or proof of acceptance to an educational program (for all categories).
  • Ensure that all application materials are submitted by the deadline.

Selection Process:

  • Winners are selected in the spring following the application period.
  • Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their application materials and alignment with the scholarship’s goals.

Additional Details:

  • The scholarship can be used for tuition, books, or other educational expenses.
