Name: Asparagus Club Scholarship
Award Amount: $3,000
Information and Eligibility:
The Asparagus Club Scholarship supports students who are preparing for careers in the independent grocery industry. The scholarship is intended to encourage students who are pursuing majors that align with leadership, operations, and innovation in the grocery profession. Areas of study commonly include Business, Food Management, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and other related fields that prepare students for work in this industry. The goal of the program is to invest in future leaders who demonstrate a strong interest in grocery operations or retail careers and who show initiative both in school and in their community.
Each year, up to ten scholarships are awarded, and the scholarship may be renewed for up to four consecutive academic terms for eligible recipients. To remain eligible for renewal, students must maintain full time enrollment and a minimum cumulative grade point average of two point five or higher. Prior experience in the grocery industry is valued and may strengthen an application, but it is not required for consideration. This scholarship is open to rising juniors, senior students, and graduate students who meet academic requirements and are enrolled at the time funding is distributed.
