The Jimmy Beans Wool Beans For Brains Scholarship Contest is a fun—but genuinely competitive—scholarship designed for creative students with skills in knitting, crochet, or sewing. Sponsored annually by Jimmy Beans Wool, this merit-based scholarship celebrates craftsmanship, creativity and dedication to the fiber arts.
The program awards five scholarships of $3,200 each. One award is reserved for a student from the Reno/Tahoe area, while the remaining four scholarships are distributed among the four U.S. regions to ensure national representation. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend an accredited institution and must submit original creative work showing their talent in knitting, crocheting or sewing.
Eligibility criteria include:

  • Enrollment: Must be attending or planning to attend an accredited college, university or trade school.
  • Creative Requirement: Must submit an original pattern or a photo of a recent knit, crochet or sewn project.
  • Merit-Based: Awards are based on skill, creativity and overall quality of the submitted work.
