The Corris Boyd Scholarship is designed to assist African American students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in any field of study. This scholarship aims to support students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
At the time of award, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements (no exceptions):
Have applied and been accepted into an AUPHA Full Member master’s degree program for start in Fall of 2014 (not before August 1)
Be a student of color (African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, Multiracial)
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0) in undergraduate coursework
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited U.S. college or university. Preference is given to students who are involved in extracurricular activities or community service.
To apply, students must submit an application that includes a personal essay (500-750 words) explaining their academic and career goals, and how they plan to contribute to their community. The essay should highlight their passion for education, leadership, and service.
