The David C. Grahame Award in Physical Electrochemistry is administered by the Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division of the Electrochemical Society (ECS). Established in 1981 to honor the pioneering American physical chemist David C. Grahame, the award recognizes excellence in research in physical electrochemistry and encourages the publication of high-quality papers in the Journal of The Electrochemical Society.

Eligibility criteria include:

Applicants must be currently active ECS members, having published more than one paper in the Society’s journal and attended more than one meeting in the past five years.
Research contributions must be outstanding in the field of physical electrochemistry, demonstrated through published work or innovation in the field.

Application Requirements & Selection Criteria:

Submission of a nomination packet including an electronic nomination form, nominator letter, nominee CV listing publications/patents, and list of key published papers.
Selection based on scientific impact of the work, contribution to the field of electrochemistry, publication record, and engagement in the Society.

Additional Details:

The recipient is required to present a lecture at an ECS spring meeting, sponsored by the Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division.
Award is generally biennial (in odd years) with nomination periods aligned accordingly.
