The Dearmont-Dyas Scholarship, offered through the NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives, is a prestigious award created to positively impact the next generation by providing substantial financial support to deserving students. This scholarship awards $25,000 to a selected student pursuing an undergraduate degree, advancing equity in educational opportunities for success in school, work, and life.

All applications are reviewed and scored by the NAACP selection committee. Final award decisions are communicated via email, and all outcomes are final and cannot be appealed.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Membership: Must be a current member of the NAACP.
  • Age Requirement: Must be under the age of 25 at the time of application.
  • Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Student Status: Must be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student.
  • Academic Performance: Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Field of Study: Open to all fields of study.
  • Financial Need: Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Residency: Must be a U.S. citizen or resident.
