Information And Eligibility:
The Duct Tape Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest is one of the most creative and entertaining scholarship opportunities available to students. Sponsored by Duck® Brand, this contest challenges participants to replace traditional prom attire with outfits made entirely from duct tape. Students who enjoy crafting, fashion design, or simply thinking outside the box can turn their creativity into scholarship money.

The contest is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec), including the District of Columbia. To enter, applicants must attend an official high school, homeschool, or school-sanctioned prom as a couple and create complete outfits and/or accessories using only duct tape. Both applicants must be at least 14 years old at the time of entry and must attend a prom during the current contest year.

Scholarship awards include a $5,000 prize for each member of the winning couple, plus an additional $5,000 donated to the winning couple’s school. Finalists and runners-up may also receive prizes depending on the contest cycle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a legal resident of the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec).
  • Must be at least 14 years old at time of entry.
  • Must attend a high school, homeschool, or school-sanctioned prom during the spring contest cycle.
  • Must enter as a couple (two individuals).
  • Prom attire and/or accessories must be made entirely from duct tape.

Application Requirements:

  • Submit photos and a written entry describing the duct tape prom outfits.
  • Both entrants must complete required forms and meet age and residency requirements.

Selection Criteria:

  • Originality and creativity of the duct tape design.
  • Workmanship, attention to detail, and duct tape usage.
  • Use of colors and creative theme execution.
  • Public voting or judge panel scoring (varies by year).

Additional Details:

  • One $5,000 scholarship is awarded to each member of the winning couple.
  • The winning couple’s school receives $5,000.
  • Additional prizes may be awarded to finalists.
