Award Amount: $1,000 per recipient

Information and Eligibility:
The Emily & Hugh Kendrick Family Scholarship is offered through the Pest Management Foundation to support students entering college or trade school who are connected to the pest-management industry. Preference is given to applicants from Georgia, Wyoming, or Colorado (home states of the Kendrick family), or to applicants in other states where the sponsoring company operates.
Eligibility criteria include:

  • Academic Level: Graduating high-school senior planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college or trade school.
  • Residency/Region: Applicant should be from Georgia, Wyoming or Colorado; if not, then from one of the states served by the sponsoring industry (such as Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona).
  • GPA/Academic Standing: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Industry Affiliation (Preferred): Priority is given to applicants whose families serve in the pest-control industry.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed scholarship application form via the Pest Management Foundation.
  • Official or unofficial high school transcript showing GPA and current standing.
  • Résumé or personal statement describing educational and career goals as they relate to the pest-management industry.
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher, advisor, or industry mentor familiar with applicant’s academic performance or industry interest.

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic achievement and promise of success in post-secondary study.
  • Commitment to or interest in the pest-management industry or related field.
  • Relevance and quality of résumé/personal statement and recommendation letter.

Additional Details:

  • The scholarship is funded through an endowed gift by Emily & Hugh Kendrick via the Pest Management Foundation.
  • Applications are accepted annually; the foundation opens the application period each year from October 1 through November 30 and recipients are notified in mid-January.
