The ESA Marsh Scholarship Program offers financial assistance to current Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) members pursuing higher education. Established in the early 1980s, it is the largest and longest-running scholarship program in the U.S. surfing community. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and active ESA membership, rather than athletic ability.

Eligibility criteria include:

• ESA Membership: Must be a current ESA member in good standing.
• Academic Standing: Must provide an official school transcript.
• Recommendation: Must submit a letter of recommendation from a non-family member.
• Personal Statement: Must write a short (no more than 500 words) letter detailing future goals and how the chosen educational institution will help achieve them.
