Information And Eligibility:
The Francis H. Mahon Scholarship was established to support low-income students with unmet financial needs who are pursuing full-time college degrees. Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors from one of the following schools: Arrupe Jesuit, Bishop Machebeuf Catholic, Holy Family, Mullen, Regis Jesuit, or St. Mary’s Academy. Applicants should plan to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university located in Colorado, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Graduating high school senior from:
  • Arrupe Jesuit
  • Bishop Machebeuf Catholic
  • Holy Family
  • Mullen
  • Regis Jesuit
  • St. Mary’s Academy
• Planning to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university located in Colorado.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Demonstrates financial need.

• Scholastic aptitude.
• Character.
• Academic aspirations.

Application Requirements:

• Complete the Universal Application through the scholarship lifecycle manager.
• Provide a list of all extracurricular activities and community volunteering opportunities.
• Submit a transcript.
• Write two essays:
  • Describe what you would like to study in college, what inspired your interest in this area, and what you hope to achieve with this degree.
  • Think of the one thing you are most passionate about. What sparked that passion, and how has it impacted your life?

Additional Information:

• Awards can be used for tuition, fees, required books and supplies, room and board, and other qualified educational expenses.
• Renewal is not automatic; however, applicants may reapply in subsequent years.
• All scholarships will be paid directly to the recipient’s school and must be used by January 31 of the year following the award.
• Award disbursement is contingent upon the outside scholarship policies of the recipient’s college or university.
