Name: The FTF Young Travel Writers Scholarship Program

Information And Eligibility: The Society of American Travel Writers, which works to promote responsible journalism and encourage the conservation of travel resources worldwide, is offering The Family Travel Forum Young Travel Writers Scholarship Contest to students interested in writing about their travels. FTF Young Travel Writers Scholarship applicants are asked to submit a blog entry about a place they have traveled and what it meant to them. Applicants are asked to explain what they learned from their trip and/or how the trip changed them.
FTF Young Travel Writers Scholarship applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 26. Blog entries must be no more than 800 words in length, and must include text and be illustrated by at least one photo, digital artwork or video. Scholarship applicants must register and submit their entry on The Family Travel Forum website, multiple submissions are allowed for this scholarship opportunity. Submissions will be judged by a panel of professional writers and editors from the Society of American Travel Writers. Submissions will be judged on originality, quality of expression, and a sense of place. The first place FTF Young Travel Writers Scholarship Award is $150, and 3 Honorable Mentions will receive a Travel Prize.
