GoSkills “Be the Boss” Scholarship

Name: GoSkills “Be the Boss” Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,000

  • Two scholarships of $2,000 are awarded each year—one in the spring and one in the fall.

Information and Eligibility:

The GoSkills “Be the Boss” Scholarship is designed to empower and support future female entrepreneurs who aspire to become leaders in business. Offered by GoSkills, an online learning platform for professional skills, this scholarship encourages young women to pursue their dreams of starting or growing an online business. The award is intended to help recipients fund their education and entrepreneurial goals.

Unlike traditional scholarships, the GoSkills scholarship is not based on academic performance or financial need. Instead, it rewards ambition, creativity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Whether you already run a business or have a compelling idea, this scholarship gives women the opportunity to take their first step toward becoming their own boss.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Gender: Applicant must be female.
  • Enrollment: Must be a current student in high school, college, or university (including graduate programs) at the time of application.
  • Citizenship: Open to students of all nationalities; applicants from any country are welcome.
  • Entrepreneurial Intent: Must have already launched or plan to launch an online business.
  • Academic Requirements: There is no minimum GPA requirement.

Application Process
All applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed Online Application: The application form is available on the GoSkills scholarship page and must be filled out in full.
  • Business Idea Summary: Applicants must submit a brief overview (up to 500 words) explaining their business idea or describing a business they have already started. The summary should include the purpose of the business, target audience, business model, and long-term goals.
  • Optional Supplement: Applicants may also include links to websites, social media pages, or any other materials that showcase their business efforts or plans.

Deadline:

  • Fall Application Deadline: September 15 (11:59 PM PST)
  • Spring Application Deadline: March 15 (11:59 PM PST)

Winners are typically notified one month after each deadline (October 15 for fall, April 15 for spring). The scholarship award is sent directly to the recipient’s institution or educational provider, or can be used for eligible business-related expenses upon verification.
