Name: Opportunity Scholarship for Foster Youth

Award Amount:

  • Up to $3,500 per academic year, renewable for up to four years.

Information and Eligibility:
The Opportunity Scholarship for Foster Youth is designed to provide financial assistance to students who have experienced foster care in Idaho. This scholarship aims to remove financial barriers and support these students in achieving their educational goals.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Residency: Must be an Idaho resident.
  • Foster Care Experience: Must have been in Idaho’s foster care system for at least one year before age 18 or have been adopted from the system.
  • Enrollment: Must enroll at an eligible Idaho college or university, either full-time or part-time.
  • Academic Standards: Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • FAFSA: Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need.
