Information and Eligibility:
The IMA Student Case Competition is an annual event designed to challenge students to analyze and solve real-world management accounting cases. This competition provides an opportunity for students to develop strategic thinking and analytical skills, while networking with industry professionals and other students from around the globe.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Team Composition: Teams must consist of 3 to 5 students from the same college or university.
  • Faculty Advisor: Each team must have a faculty advisor to guide and support them throughout the competition.
  • Membership: All team members must be active IMA student members.
  • Student Status: Open to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in accounting, finance, or related fields.

Competition Format:

  • Teams receive a management accounting case study to analyze and prepare a comprehensive solution.
  • Teams submit their solutions in written and video presentation formats.
  • Regional finalists present their solutions to a panel of judges at IMA’s Annual Conference & Expo.

Application Requirements:

  • Register for the competition through the IMA website.
  • Submit a completed team application, including team member names and faculty advisor information.
  • Prepare and submit the case study solution according to competition guidelines.
  • Ensure all team members are IMA student members before the submission deadline.
