Imagine America High School Scholarship

Name: The Imagine America High School Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $1,000

Information And Eligibility:
The Imagine America High School Scholarship Program is one of the largest and longest-running scholarship initiatives dedicated specifically to helping high school seniors pursue career and technical education. Established by the Imagine America Foundation (IAF), the program was created to increase postsecondary access for students who may not be pursuing traditional four-year colleges but instead wish to attend accredited career colleges, technical schools, and vocational training institutions. Each year, the Imagine America Foundation awards thousands of scholarships worth $1,000 each to eligible students enrolling at one of more than 500 participating career colleges throughout the United States.

The purpose of the program is to recognize students who demonstrate academic promise, financial need, and a commitment to community service. The scholarship is not based on class rank, major test scores, or extensive essay submissions—making it highly accessible for many graduating seniors. Instead, emphasis is placed on students who are motivated to complete their postsecondary program successfully and begin a career in fields such as healthcare, skilled trades, business, information technology, and other technical professions.

To qualify, applicants must be recent high school graduates and must enroll in an Imagine America–participating career college. Students must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, demonstrate voluntary community service involvement during their senior year, and show financial need—making this an ideal scholarship option for students who may have limited resources but strong aspirations for career training. The program aims to reduce financial barriers while supporting workforce development, helping students transition more easily from high school into high-demand career fields.

In addition to the scholarship itself, recipients also gain access to Imagine America Foundation resources, including career readiness training modules, budgeting tools, and professional development support—all designed to help students navigate both school and the early stages of their chosen career path.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a recent high school graduate.
  • Must plan to enroll at a participating Imagine America career college.
  • Must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must show voluntary community service involvement during senior year.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete the Imagine America online scholarship application.
  • Provide high school GPA verification.
  • Submit documentation of financial need.
  • Confirm community service participation.
  • Select a participating career college as part of the application.

Additional Details:

  • More than 500 accredited career colleges nationwide participate in the program.
  • Designed for students pursuing career training rather than traditional four-year degrees.
  • Scholarship funds are applied directly toward tuition at the student’s chosen institution.
  • Recipients also gain access to IAF’s career readiness resources and student success tools.
