Information and Eligibility:
The IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship is administered by the Iowa Hospital Education & Research Foundation (IHERF), a subsidiary of the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). The program was established to help address workforce shortages in Iowa hospitals by supporting students pursuing clinical or laboratory health‐care careers in programs that lead to licensure or certification.
Eligibility criteria include:

• Academic Level: Applicants may be enrolled in or entering an accredited Iowa health-care education program (certificate, associate, bachelor’s or other qualifying training).
• Field of Study: Eligible fields include nursing (LPN, RN, advanced practice), clinical laboratory science/technology, radiology, respiratory therapy, health informatics, medical assisting, emergency medical technician, physical or occupational therapy assistant—among others as defined by IHERF.
• Commitment: Recipients agree to work in an Iowa hospital for one year for each year they receive an award.
