The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) Scholarships support talented minority students who demonstrate strong leadership, academic excellence, and a clear commitment to community service. The program is designed to address financial need while also providing recipients with comprehensive support through JRF’s celebrated “42 Strategies for Success,” which include mentoring, leadership training, and career development resources. Each year, JRF awards several specialized scholarships recognizing outstanding achievements in academics, service, leadership, and athletic involvement.

Available Scholarships:

  • Ralph E. Ward Incentive Scholarship: Awarded to the graduating scholar with the highest cumulative GPA. Recipient receives a $10,000 cash prize.
  • Spike Lee Youth Motivation Scholarship: Funded through a generous gift from filmmaker Spike Lee, this $2,500 award recognizes the scholar who has demonstrated exceptional community service during the calendar year.
  • Unilever Legacy of Leadership Scholarship: A $10,000 award honoring a student who has shown exemplary leadership that positively influences others or creates meaningful social impact. The recipient is also considered for a domestic internship at Unilever.
  • Nike Prize Scholarship: A $1,000 annual award presented to a scholar-athlete whose advocacy, innovation, and dedication inspire positive change within their community.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a graduating high school senior
  • Must be a minority student demonstrating financial need
  • Must exhibit leadership potential and a strong commitment to community service
  • Must plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
