Name: Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship (Zonta International)
Award Amount: $5,000 each
District/Region-level awards: smaller amounts depending on district — historically lower than international awards.
Information And Eligibility:
The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship was established by Zonta International to support women pursuing undergraduate or master’s degrees in business or business-related fields. The scholarship aimed to encourage women to enter and advance in business, helping to break down gender barriers in corporate leadership and management roles. The award could be used at any accredited college, university, or institute offering a business-related program.
Eligible fields included accounting, economics, finance, business management, business technology, information technology, marketing, human resources, international business, entrepreneurship, and other business-related disciplines. The program accepted women enrolled in at least the second year of undergraduate work through the final year of a master’s program. Online-only students were also eligible, provided their program was accredited. Recipients needed to maintain enrollment when scholarship funds were disbursed. Women of any age, from any country where Zonta is active, could apply — provided they were living or studying within a Zonta district or region. Past recipients of the Klausman Scholarship were not eligible to receive the award again.
In addition to financial support, the scholarship aimed to recognize and foster leadership, ambition, and initiative among women in business, encouraging recipients to pursue ambitious career paths and contribute to economic and social development.
