Information and Eligibility:
The Kentucky Broadcasters Association offers annual scholarships to students interested in broadcasting or communications. These awards support high school seniors whose parent or guardian is employed by a Kentucky radio or television station as well as college students majoring in broadcasting or communications in Kentucky. The goal is to develop the next generation of broadcast professionals in the state.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Academic Level: Graduating high school senior or college student majoring in broadcasting or communications.
• Residency/Institution: Must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in Kentucky (for the college-level scholarship) or be the child of an employee at a Kentucky broadcast station (for the high school senior scholarship).
• Industry Affiliation: For the high school scholarship: parent or guardian must be employed at a Kentucky radio or television station that is a member of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.

Application Requirements:

• Completed scholarship application form provided by the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.
• Official or unofficial transcript showing academic performance.
• Résumé or personal statement describing educational goals in broadcasting or communications, extracurricular activities, and leadership.
• Letter of recommendation from a faculty member, advisor, or industry professional familiar with the applicant’s commitment and promise in the field.

Selection Criteria:

• Academic achievement and demonstrated interest in broadcasting or communications.
• Leadership, extracurricular involvement, and relevance of career goals in media or broadcasting.

Additional Details:

• Multiple scholarships are awarded annually, including fourteen (14) scholarships of $2,100 each for eligible high school seniors and four scholarships of $3,500 each for college students majoring in broadcasting or communications.
• Scholarship funds are paid to the recipient’s institution upon verification of full-time enrollment and eligibility.
