Name: Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES)
Award Amount: Up to $2,500 annually based on academic performance and test scores
Information And Eligibility:
The Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) is a merit-based financial aid program that rewards Kentucky high school students for strong academic performance. The scholarship is funded by the Kentucky Lottery and is designed to encourage students to work hard in high school while helping make college more affordable for Kentucky residents.
Students earn KEES awards each year of high school based on their grade point average. Additional bonus awards may also be earned through strong performance on Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and certain college entrance exams such as the ACT or SAT. These awards accumulate throughout high school, allowing students to increase their scholarship amount as they continue to demonstrate academic success.
KEES funds may be used at participating colleges, universities, and technical schools within Kentucky. The program helps students cover tuition and other educational expenses while encouraging continued academic achievement. By rewarding students for strong academic performance during high school, the KEES program promotes college readiness and supports students who are committed to pursuing higher education.
