Information and Eligibility:
The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Civic Leadership Scholarship supports rising municipal leaders affiliated with KLC member cities who demonstrate commitment to public service, civic engagement and leadership development. The scholarship provides access to leadership conferences, training programs and networking opportunities to strengthen community governance and civic innovation.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Affiliation: Must be employed by or serve in a city affiliated with the Kentucky League of Cities.
• Leadership Interest: Demonstrated interest in civic leadership, community service or municipal governance.
• Professional Development: Willingness to participate in KLC leadership training or conference events.

Application Requirements:

• Completed KLC Civic Leadership Scholarship application form.
• Résumé or statement outlining current role, civic involvement, leadership goals and how the scholarship will support their development.
• Letter of recommendation from a city official or supervising manager familiar with applicant’s service and leadership potential.

Selection Criteria:

• Potential for leadership and commitment to community or municipal service.
• Quality of application materials including goals statement and résumé.
• Relevance of proposed professional development to applicant’s role and to the mission of KLC.

Additional Details:

• Scholarship covers registration and attendance at KLC leadership events or conferences as determined by the award.
