Information and Eligibility:
The Kentucky Thoroughbred Association offers scholarship awards during its College Scholarship Day program to full-time college students. The initiative supports students connected with the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry in Kentucky and encourages further education and engagement in the sector.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Academic Level: Full-time undergraduate college student (must be enrolled at the time of award).
• Residency: Must be attending a college or university and may be required to have Kentucky ties or involvement in the Thoroughbred industry.
• Industry Involvement: Preference is given to applicants with documented interest, experience, or future plans in the Thoroughbred racing or breeding sector.

Application Requirements:

• Completed application form as provided by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association.
• Official or unofficial transcript verifying enrollment and academic status.
• Résumé or summary of relevant experience, work or study in Thoroughbred industry activities and educational goals.
• Letter of recommendation from a faculty member, industry professional, or mentor familiar with the applicant’s involvement in the Thoroughbred community.

Selection Criteria:

• Academic achievement and demonstrated capacity for success in higher education.
• Active or planned engagement in the Thoroughbred racing or breeding industry.
• Quality and clarity of application materials including résumé and recommendation.

Additional Details:

• Scholarship awards are distributed during the College Scholarship Day event sponsored by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association in partnership with venues such as Churchill Downs.
• Scholarship funds are paid directly to the student’s institution upon verification of full-time enrollment.
