Information and Eligibility:
The Macy’s Emergency Scholarship Fund, a partnership between LNESC and Macy’s, provides immediate financial assistance to full-time college students facing unexpected economic hardship that could prevent them from completing classes or their degree program. Funds are intended for tuition and education-related expenses and are non-renewable. Applicants cannot be recipients of other LNESC scholarships at the time of application.

Qualifying emergency circumstances include:

  • Change in family income or support
  • Loss of job
  • Death of an immediate family member
  • Natural disaster
  • Pending eviction or home foreclosure
  • Burglary
  • Fire

Note: Poor financial choices, such as credit card debt or misuse of financial aid, do not qualify as emergencies.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Residency: Must be a resident of California, Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, or Texas.
  • Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university and in good standing.
  • Academic Performance: Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Application requirements include:

  • Completed online application
  • College transcript showing proof of full-time enrollment and GPA
  • Essay outlining immediate financial need
  • Budget with supporting documentation for the amount requested

Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all funds are awarded.
