Name: Richard E. & Nancy P. Marriott Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: At least $1,000 annually; amount may vary based on cost of attendance, financial need, and other resources

Information and Eligibility:
The Richard E. & Nancy P. Marriott Foundation Scholarship supports deserving undergraduate students in achieving their educational goals. Awards are based on academic ability, personal goals, community involvement, financial need, recommendations, and a student essay. Scholarships are granted annually and are renewable for up to three additional years or until the undergraduate degree is completed, whichever comes first.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Enrollment: Must be attending or planning to attend within one year one of the following universities:
  • BYU – Idaho
  • BYU – Hawaii
  • BYU – Provo
  • Southern Virginia University
  • The University of Utah
  • Utah State University
  • Utah Valley University
  • Weber State University
• Degree Program: Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree on a full-time basis with at least one year remaining.
• Academic Performance: Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Reapplication: Must submit a renewal application each year to continue receiving the award.

Application requirements include:

• Completed scholarship application form
• Typed essay (maximum 500 words) describing a past experience that had a significant influence
• Two letters of recommendation
• Current academic transcript
• Copy of Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA
• Participation in a phone interview if selected as a semi-finalist
