The Guaranteed Access Grant is a need-based program that provides financial assistance to eligible Maryland high school seniors who have demonstrated financial need and meet specific academic criteria. This grant covers up to 100% of the student’s financial need when combined with other financial aid, making college more affordable for Maryland residents.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a Maryland resident.
  • Must be a high school senior or a recent high school graduate (within one year).
  • Must have a minimum, unweighted cumulative 2.5 high school GPA.
  • Must complete a college preparatory program.
  • Must enroll at a Maryland college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate student.
  • Family income must be at or below 130% of the federal poverty level.

Application Process:

  • Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA) by March 1.
  • Submit all required documentation to the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) by April 1.

  • Additional Documentation Submission Deadline: April 1.
