Name: The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity

Award Amount: $20000

Information And Eligibility: In an effort to encourage innovative and creative problem solving, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven is offering up to six college scholarships in the amount of up to $20,000 ($1000 to $5000 per year, renewable for four years, determined by the financial need of each selected recipient) each, to applicants who demonstrate exceptional innovation and creativity. Qualified applicants must be high school juniors, high school seniors, or college students in the first year of an undergraduate degree program. All applicants must either be Connecticut/New York City metropolitan area residents planning to attend (or currently attending) an accredit college or university anywhere in the United States, or residents of any other state who plan to attend (or are currently attending) an accredit college or university in the Connecticut/New York City metropolitan area. Accredited colleges, universities, vocational schools, and technical schools are all eligible for this opportunity. Qualified applicants must complete the Milton Fisher Scholarship application, and provide their high school/college transcript, two letters of recommendation, and their financial need information to the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven by this years scholarship deadline to be eligible for consideration. The Selection Committee will select the award recipients based upon each applicants innovative and creative problem solving skills as demonstrated in their essay, each applicants letters of recommendation, and each applicants academic and extracurricular information. Applicants financial need will not be used as a factor in determining the award recipients. The financial need information will only be used in determining the amount each winning recipient will be awarded.
