The NAAAP Philadelphia Future Leaders Scholarship is designed to recognize and support Asian American students in the Greater Philadelphia region who demonstrate strong leadership potential, academic achievement, and a commitment to community involvement. Established by the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) Philadelphia chapter, this scholarship aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders who will make a positive impact in their communities and professional fields.

This program is open to both graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate college students of Asian or Asian American descent. Applicants are evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including leadership potential, extracurricular involvement, academic performance, and personal achievements. Special emphasis is placed on the applicant’s ability to demonstrate initiative, leadership skills, and a desire to contribute to the broader community.

Multiple scholarships are awarded annually, with funds intended to help cover educational expenses such as tuition, books, and living costs. Finalists may be invited to participate in an interview process prior to the final selection.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be of Asian or Asian American descent
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • High school seniors must attend a Greater Philadelphia area high school
  • College students must attend a Greater Philadelphia area accredited undergraduate institution and not be graduating in the current academic year
  • Must demonstrate leadership involvement and community engagement

Application Requirements:

  • Complete the official scholarship application form
  • Submit a personal essay
  • Provide a current resume
  • Submit an unofficial transcript
  • Provide at least one letter of recommendation (maximum of two)
