Information and Eligibility:

The Nancy Camp Scholarship, offered by the Elisha Leavenworth Foundation, awards $5,000 to high school graduates who have maintained an academic average of “B” or better. Applicants must reside in one of the eligible towns and demonstrate a commitment to academic success.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Residency: Must reside in Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, or Wolcott.
  • Academic Performance: Must have maintained an academic average of “B” or better.
  • Educational Plans: Plan to attend an accredited college or university.

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic achievements and performance.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Community involvement and extracurricular activities.
  • Personal essays and recommendations.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete and submit the Foundation’s general scholarship application.
  • Provide official academic transcripts.
  • Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial need.
  • Include at least one letter of recommendation.
  • Write a personal essay as specified in the application.

Additional Information:

  • Scholarship awards are one-time and non-renewable.
  • Applicants should ensure all materials are complete and submitted by the deadline.
