The NAPF / GALA Sponsored CRNA Scholarships are annual awards created to support nurse anesthesia residents through inclusive, mission-driven funding. These scholarships are sponsored by the Nurse Anesthesiology Pride Foundation (NAPF) in collaboration with GALA and are awarded and administered by the AANA Foundation. The program reflects a shared commitment to supporting diversity, representation, and professional advancement within the nurse anesthesia community.

These scholarships are available to nurse anesthesia residents who are active members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and are currently enrolled in an accredited nurse anesthesia program. The awards are designed to help offset the financial burden of graduate-level anesthesia education while recognizing residents who demonstrate academic achievement, professional promise, and alignment with the values of equity, inclusion, and service within healthcare.

The NAPF / GALA scholarships carry special significance. The awards are offered in memoriam of Dr. Sandra J. Kilde, EdD, CRNA, a co-founder of GALA and a respected leader, educator, and advocate within the nurse anesthesia profession. Dr. Kilde’s legacy of mentorship, advocacy, and leadership continues through these scholarships, which aim to uplift future CRNAs and foster a profession that reflects the diversity of the patients it serves.

Recipients of NAPF-sponsored scholarships are selected through the AANA Foundation’s competitive review process.
