Information And Eligibility: The National Health Service Corps Scholarship is offered to students enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited training program, who are U.S. citizens or nationals, and committed to practicing primary care at an approved site in one of the designated Health Professional Shortage Areas. The National Health Service Corps Scholarship can cover tuition, fees, associated costs, and provide a living stipend for those who qualify for the scholarship award.

In exchange for the scholarship, recipients will agree to practice their profession for a minimum of two years in an underserved community. Eligible fields for the scholarship include:

• Primary care physicians (MD or DO) in family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics-gynecology, general psychiatry.
• Primary care nurse practitioners.
• Certified nurse-midwives.
• Primary care physician assistants.
• Dentists (general or pediatric).

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited training program.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
• Must commit to practicing primary care in a designated Health Professional Shortage Area.
• Must agree to work in an underserved community for at least two years.
