Information And Eligibility: The National Health Service Corps Scholarship is offered to those students enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited training program, a U.S. citizen or national, and commited to practicing primary care at an approved site in one of the designated Health Professional Shortage Areas. The National Health Service Corps Scholarship can cover tuition, fees, associated costs and provide a living stipend for those who qualify for the scholarship award. In exchange for the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, recipients will agree to practice their profession for a minimum of two years in an American community that is underprivileged. Those who may be eligible for a National Health Service Corps Scholarship are: primary care physicians: MD or DO in family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics-gynecology, general psychiatry, primary care nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, primary care physician assistants, and dentists: general or pediatric.
