The Distinguished Scholarship is awarded to exceptional students who demonstrate a combination of academic excellence, leadership potential, and community involvement. This competitive scholarship is available to incoming undergraduate students who have displayed extraordinary achievements in academics, extracurricular activities, and community service. The scholarship is designed to support students who will contribute positively to the UNO campus and broader community.

Eligibility for the Distinguished Scholarship includes:

• Full-Time Enrollment: Applicants must plan to attend UNO full-time in an undergraduate program.
• Academic Excellence: Applicants must have a strong academic record, typically with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and competitive test scores (ACT/SAT).
• Leadership and Community Service: Applicants should demonstrate leadership in school or community activities, as well as a commitment to volunteer work and community service.
• Renewal Requirements: The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 3.25 and continues full-time enrollment at UNO.
