Net Literacy Financial Connects Scholarship

Name: The Net Literacy Financial Connects Scholarship

Award Amount: Varies

Information And Eligibility:
The Net Literacy Financial Connects Scholarship is a nationwide competition designed to promote financial literacy through student-created digital content. Developed by Net Literacy in partnership with State Farm Insurance, this program encourages students to take an active role in helping others understand essential financial concepts through video storytelling and interactive content creation. Instead of relying on traditional essays or academic performance, the scholarship focuses on creativity, communication skills, and the ability to make financial education engaging for a wide audience.

Applicants participate by creating an original video that teaches an important financial literacy topic—such as budgeting, saving, banking, managing credit, or understanding loans. Videos must run between two and five minutes and should accurately present financial concepts in a way that is both educational and accessible. Students are encouraged to use clear explanations, real-life scenarios, or creative visuals to demonstrate why financial literacy matters and how young people can make responsible financial decisions.

This scholarship is structured to reward a large number of students. More than one hundred awards are available, making it one of the more accessible scholarship competitions for students who enjoy media creation or digital projects. Because financial literacy is a skill needed by all students regardless of career path, the program welcomes a broad range of creative approaches. Whether the video is humorous, documentary-style, animated, or instructional, the focus is on effectively communicating financial knowledge.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be an active student in grades 6–12, or a part-time college or graduate student enrolled in a 2–4 year accredited institution.
  • Must be enrolled full-time or part-time at the time of submission.
  • Must reside in one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Must submit an original financial literacy video between two and five minutes long.

Application Requirements:

  • Submit an original student-created video educating viewers on a financial literacy topic.
  • Ensure video meets the required two–five minute length.
  • Complete the required online application through the Net Literacy Financial Connects platform.
  • Follow submission guidelines regarding format, content originality, and topic selection.

Selection Criteria:

  • Clarity and educational value of the financial concept presented.
  • Creativity and originality of the video content.
  • Accuracy of financial information.
  • Overall communication effectiveness and audience impact.

Additional Details:

  • More than 100 scholarships are awarded each cycle, increasing chances of selection.
  • Winning videos may be used by Net Literacy to promote financial education nationwide.
  • Awards may vary based on ranking, creativity, and educational impact.
