The scholarship program of the New Mexico Mining Association supports students who are residents of New Mexico and are pursuing studies in mining, mineral resources, geological sciences, mining engineering, environmental reclamation related to mining, or other mineral‐industry disciplines. • Completed scholarship application form available via the NMMA website under “Education” and “Resources”.
• Official or unofficial academic transcript demonstrating current status and academic performance.
• Résumé or personal statement summarizing the applicant’s interest in the mining or mineral resource industry, prior experience or coursework, and educational/career goals.
• Letter(s) of recommendation from an educator, employer, or industry mentor familiar with the applicant’s mining/mineral discipline interests (if required by the specific fund).

Selection Criteria:

• Academic achievement and preparedness for study in a mining, mineral resources or geology domain.
• Demonstrated interest or commitment to the mining or mineral resources field in New Mexico. Applicants with internships, mining‐industry exposure, geology club involvement or related activity will be favored.
