Award Amount:
– $5,000 annually (renewable for up to four years) through the Health Care Scholars United Program (30 recipients)
– $5,000 one-time scholarships (6 recipients)
– $5,700 one-time scholarship (1 recipient)
– $2,000–$2,500 one-time scholarships (9 recipients)

Information and Eligibility:
The National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF) Health Professional Student Scholarship Program supports medical, nursing (including BSN), dental, pharmacy, physician associate, and public health students who have outstanding academic records, demonstrate leadership, and are committed to serving underserved communities. Since its founding in 2004, NHHF has awarded over $2.5 million to 507 students.

In partnership with the United Health Foundation and other sponsors, NHHF provides renewable and one-time scholarships along with a unique one-on-one professional mentoring program to foster career development.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Field of Study: Must be pursuing a degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing (including BSN), Physician Associate, or Public Health.
• Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution.
• Status: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have DACA status.
• Application Materials: Must submit a personal statement (max two pages, double-spaced), current CV, one letter of recommendation, proof of enrollment, unofficial transcript, signed media release form, and a photo of the applicant “in action” in their field.
• Preference: Priority given to first-year students.
