Information And Eligibility:
The Nike HSI Scholarship Program is designed to empower young leaders attending a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). HSIs are higher education institutions with at least 25% Hispanic undergraduate enrollment, as defined by the Higher Education Act of 1965. Nike’s scholarship program supports students who excel academically, demonstrate leadership, and are committed to their communities.

In addition to financial assistance for tuition, books, and related expenses, recipients may access mentorship, networking opportunities, and potential internships within the sports industry. Scholars are selected based on merit, with award amounts ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, based on demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage.
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university officially designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). Reference the latest US Department of Education NCES list for HSI designation.

Other Requirements:

  • No documents are required for successful submission of Phase I.
  • In October, selected students must submit:
    • Undergraduate transcript(s).
    • Financial aid award letter.
    • Enrollment verification form.
  • First-year undergraduate students without grades for summer/fall must submit their high school transcript in October if selected to proceed. A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) is required.

Application Process:

  • Complete the online scholarship application form available through the Nike website.
  • Submit a resume detailing leadership roles, community involvement, and achievements.
  • Provide academic transcripts (high school or undergraduate, as applicable).
  • Write a personal statement or essay about career goals and contributions to the Hispanic community.
  • Include at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or mentor.
