Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation Scholarship


Name: Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers High School Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000 per recipient

Information and Eligibility:
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Committee offers scholarships to outstanding high school seniors from Farm Bureau member families who plan to enroll full-time at an accredited Oklahoma college, university or technical school in an agriculture-related major. Applicants’ families must hold a voting membership in the Farm Bureau.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed YF&R scholarship application form.
  • High school transcript reflecting GPA, class rank and coursework.
  • Résumé or list of activities, honors and work experience.
  • Essay (500 words maximum) explaining how the scholarship will support the applicant’s educational and career goals in agriculture.
  • One character reference letter from a teacher, advisor or community leader.

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic performance in high school and relevance of chosen major in agriculture.
  • Demonstrated leadership, involvement in FFA, 4-H or other agricultural and community activities.
  • Quality and clarity of the essay outlining future goals in agriculture.
  • Membership status in an Oklahoma Farm Bureau voting-member family.

Additional Details:

  • Scholarship funds are awarded through the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and must be used for tuition or program-related educational expenses.
  • The YF&R Committee also offers a separate collegiate scholarship for enrolled Farm Bureau members pursuing agriculture degrees.

Deadline:

  • Application Period: Opens in January and closes in March.
  • Award Announcement: Recipients are notified in May.
