Name: The Olive Garden Annual Pasta Tales Essay Scholarship

Information And Eligibility: Did you know that hunger affects one in six people in the United States? In an effort to help bring awareness to the issue of hunger in America, and work towards finding solutions, Olive Garden is offering their annual Pasta Tales Essay Scholarship Contest to all qualifying students. Students in grades one through twelve, who are legal residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec), and who are attending a school located in the United States or Canada are eligible to apply for this scholarship opportunity. There is no GPA requirement or financial need requirement for this scholarship, qualified applicants are simply asked to submit an essay of 50 to 250 words, that answers the question: How would you help end hunger in your community? All essays must be original and must not have been previously published or submitted in any other competition. All qualifying essays will be split into 12 categories by grade, and judging will be based on content, essay development/organization, relevance to theme, creativity/originality and grammar. One winner will be selected from each 12 grade categories, and will be awarded $500 and a family dinner at their local Olive Garden restaurant. One grand-prize winner will be selected from the overall competition, and be awarded $2500, a trip to New York City for 3 days, including dinner at the Olive Garden in Times Square, and a $5,000 grant to support hunger initiatives in the winners local community. Employees (and their immediate families) of Olive Garden and any of its parents, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible for this contest.
