Overview:

Established to support the academic success of women and minority students, the OHM Advisors Diversity Scholarship is open to individuals currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a STEM program or other related field of practice at OHM Advisors. Special consideration is given to applicants living near an OHM Advisors office location, but affiliation with the firm is not required. Previous winners are encouraged to reapply.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Identify as a woman or minority as defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Program (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian or Pacific Islander, Multi-racial).
  • Open to high school seniors through college juniors.
  • Must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in a U.S. STEM program or other related field of practice at OHM Advisors.
  • A cumulative average grade of a B (3.0 GPA) at the time of application is beneficial but not mandatory.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete the online application form.
  • Write a 1-page essay in response to the essay prompt listed on the application and upload it as a PDF.
  • Submit two years of academic transcripts.

Application Timeline:

  • Application Opens: September.
  • Application Deadline: November 30.
  • Finalist Notification: February.
  • Interviews with Finalists: March/April.
  • Winners Notified: May.

Additional Information:

  • Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early to ensure all materials are received on time.
  • Essays should be well-prepared, thoughtful, and authentically represent the applicant’s experiences and personality. It is recommended to write a draft, review it after some time, and have a trusted person provide feedback before submission.
  • While there are no specific formatting requirements for the essay, using at least a 10-point font size and single or double spacing is appreciated.
