This scholarship recognizes the critical role doctoral-prepared nurses play in shaping the future of oncology care. Recipients receive a one-time scholarship award of $7,500, which may be applied to approved education-related expenses. Scholarship funds are restricted to tuition, required fees, books, supplies, laboratory fees, and equipment necessary for enrollment or attendance in an accredited doctoral nursing program. Travel-related expenses and dissertation-specific costs are not eligible, and any unused funds must be returned to the Oncology Nursing Foundation.
Applicants must be registered nurses in good academic standing who are currently enrolled in, accepted to, or actively applying for a PhD or DNP nursing program at an accredited institution. A demonstrated commitment to oncology nursing is required, along with a signed letter of reference from a current supervisor or academic advisor on official organizational letterhead. Applicants must also agree to participate in a post-graduation survey to help evaluate the scholarship’s long-term impact.
Applications are evaluated using a competitive review process that considers academic quality, clarity of written responses, professional growth in oncology nursing, and contributions to the cancer care community.
