The OTA Safety Management Council Scholarship supports high-school seniors who are children or dependents of members or employees of the Oregon Trucking Associations (OTA). Applicants should exhibit solid academic achievement, strong leadership potential and an interest in pursuing post-secondary education at a nonprofit or public institution.

  • Affiliation: Applicant must be a graduating high-school senior and the child or dependent of an OTA member or employee.
  • Enrollment Intent: Applicant must be approved to enroll full-time at an accredited nonprofit college or university in the United States.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed scholarship application form provided by the OTA Safety Management Council.
  • Official or unofficial high-school transcript showing academic performance and status as a senior.
  • Résumé or personal statement describing the applicant’s academic achievements, leadership activities and post-secondary plans.
  • Proof of parent or guardian’s eligibility (membership or employment with an OTA member company).

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic performance (GPA, coursework) and readiness for college study.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative or community service in the school or local setting.
  • Alignment with the trucking industry’s goals—understanding of the sector’s importance, or motivation to contribute to its future.
