Name: P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education Grant
Award Amount: Up to $3,000
Information And Eligibility:
The P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education Grant is a need-based education grant created to support women in the United States and Canada whose formal education was interrupted and who are now working to reenter the academic or workforce pipeline. Administered by P.E.O. International, a philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing educational opportunities for women, this program is specifically designed for adult learners who are seeking to complete degrees, certifications, or credential-based programs that lead directly to employment or career advancement.
The grant recognizes that many women experience disruptions in their education due to family responsibilities, caregiving roles, financial hardship, or other life circumstances. Rather than focusing on traditional students, the program prioritizes women who are returning to school after a meaningful break and who are close to completing their chosen program of study. Eligible applicants must have experienced at least 24 consecutive months away from formal education at some point in adulthood and must be within approximately 18 months of completing their educational objective.
Funding through the Program for Continuing Education Grant may be used for a wide range of education-related expenses. Allowable uses include tuition, required fees, books and supplies, transportation costs, childcare expenses, and other essential costs that directly support a student’s ability to complete her program. The grant is not intended for doctoral-level study, continuing education courses taken without a defined credential outcome, or scholarship-style merit awards.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need and must be sponsored by a local P.E.O. chapter in order to apply. Because sponsorship and application timelines vary by chapter, interested candidates are encouraged to begin the process early by connecting with a local chapter to discuss eligibility and next steps. The grant is awarded once per applicant and is intended to provide practical support during the final phase of educational completion.
