Name: The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Award Amount: Up to $90,000 over two years
Information And Eligibility:
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is one of the most prestigious graduate fellowship programs in the United States. Established to honor the contributions of immigrants and their children, the fellowship provides significant financial and professional support to outstanding New Americans pursuing graduate education. The program seeks individuals who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, creativity, and a deep commitment to using their education to make a meaningful impact on society.
This fellowship is open to immigrants and children of immigrants—referred to as “New Americans”—who are pursuing graduate degrees in any field at accredited U.S. institutions. Eligible fields include law, medicine, business, engineering, public policy, education, the arts, humanities, sciences, and more. The program places no restrictions on discipline, recognizing that leadership and innovation can emerge across all areas of study.
Applicants must be 30 years old or younger and either enrolled in or planning to enroll in the first or second year of a graduate degree program. The fellowship values individuals who have overcome adversity, bridged cultures, and demonstrated resilience and initiative as New Americans. Selection committees place strong emphasis on applicants’ personal stories, leadership experiences, intellectual curiosity, and long-term vision for how their education will benefit the broader community.
Each fellowship provides up to $90,000 over two years, consisting of a living stipend and a tuition grant paid directly to the graduate institution. In addition to financial support, fellows gain access to a powerful network of alumni, mentors, and leaders across industries. Fellows are encouraged to engage with one another through conferences, professional development events, and lifelong networking opportunities, making this program both a financial award and a long-term leadership investment.
